Lake Jarun is the central place of the Jarun lake complex. It was built for the needs of the Universiade, and it contains a rowing course 2225 m long. In addition to the rowing course, there is also a regatta course.

The track around Jarun lake is separated into two parts – one for cyclists, and the other for recreational users on scooters and roller blades. The latter part of the track is much faster due to the use of wheels, so it is not out of the question to complete the tour in a shorter time.
There are various facilities next to it. These include a playground, a picnic area, a basketball court, and a volleyball court.
The road around lake is dedicated to the greats of Croatian sports. Every ten meters there is a board with the biggest athletes from Croatia. They have a picture of an athlete or a sports team with an explanation. The first board is for Drazen Petrovic, a basketball player who is considered one of the best European players of all time. The second board is for the Croatian national football team, which won the bronze medal at the 1998 World Cup. The third board is for Janica Kostelic, a skier who is considered one of the best in history.

Jarun Hippodrome
